Dahlia ‘Sylvia Craig Hunter’
Warm as sun-baked clay, ‘Sylvia Craig Hunter’ unfurls large, formal decorative blooms in rich terracotta-bronze—glowing pumpkin-orange with earthy depth. Flowers are full and sculpted, carried on long, dark, sturdy stems with a graceful, slightly nodding poise. Tall, vigorous plants come into their stride later in the season, then pour out statement blooms that anchor autumn palettes and photograph beautifully.

Garden Reverie
Picture armfuls of burnished terracotta plates, each bloom a warm ember that makes blushes glow and creams sing. ‘Sylvia Craig Hunter’ brings depth, richness, and quiet drama to borders and bouquets alike.
Planting & Growing Guide
Dahlias thrive in full sun and well-draining soil. Plant tubers after all danger of frost has passed, 4–6″ deep and spaced 12–18″ apart depending on variety size. Pinch plants at ~12″ tall to encourage bushier growth and more blooms. Provide sturdy support for tall stems. Water consistently (avoid soggy soil) and deadhead regularly to extend flowering. In cooler regions, lift tubers after frost, cure them, and store in a cool, dry place for replanting next year.

Dahlia Tubers need to store in a cool and dark place. I use water misted vermiculite. Please note that I am in zone 11 and your planting zone may likely need a completely different method of storage. Our tubers are shipped with the intention of the customer planting right away. Please look up proper dahlia planting for your zone.
