Dahlia ‘KDF Lilac Cloudburst’

A showstopper in the garden, ‘KDF Lilac Cloudburst’ unfurls oversized blooms in soft gradients of lilac, blush, and creamy undertones—petals sweeping outward in layered waves to form a cloudlike dome that can reach true dinnerplate proportions. The color shifts with the light, reading cooler lavender at dawn and warming toward pink by late afternoon. Sturdy stems, abundant flowering, and luminous presence make this variety as practical for cutting as it is breathtaking in the field.

Planting & Growing Guide

Dahlias thrive in full sun and well-draining soil. Plant tubers after all danger of frost has passed, 4–6″ deep and spaced 12–18″ apart depending on variety size. Pinch young plants at ~12″ tall to encourage bushier growth and more blooms. Provide sturdy support for upright stems—dinnerplate blooms benefit from staking. Water consistently (avoid soggy soil) and deadhead regularly to extend the flowering season. In cooler regions, lift tubers after frost, cure in a dry spot, and store in a cool, dry place for replanting the following year.

Materials

Single viable root of which to propagate a dahlia from the parent plant.

Shipping & Returns

Please allow two business days to prepare for shipping. The tuber is not packed in long term storage material, please ensure you are prepared to plant or store the tubers properly. It is the customers responsibility to care for the tuber after it arrives.

Dimensions

Dahlia tubers come in all shapes and sizes. Please note a certain shape or size does not produce a better or worse quality plant. Ugly tubers make beautiful plants!

Care Instructions

Dahlia Tubers need to store in a cool and dark place. I use water misted vermiculite. Please note that I am in zone 11 and your planting zone may likely need a completely different method of storage. Our tubers are shipped with the intention of the customer planting right away. Please look up proper dahlia planting for your zone.
