Dahlia ‘Crichton Honey’

Soft and luminous, ‘Crichton Honey’ blooms in a warm palette of honey-apricot, peach, and soft blush, with subtle shifts of tone as the light and season change. Its fully double, formal decorative form creates blooms about 3–4″ across—petals perfectly arranged in sculpted layers. Compact at around 3 ft tall, this variety is a reliable producer of armfuls of blooms that glow with romance and charm, making it a favorite for both growers and floral designers.

Planting & Growing Guide

Dahlias thrive in full sun and well-draining soil. Plant tubers after all danger of frost has passed, 4–6″ deep and spaced 12–18″ apart depending on variety size. Pinch plants when ~12″ tall to encourage bushy growth and more blooms. Provide support if needed. Water consistently (avoid soggy soil) and deadhead regularly to prolong flowering. In cooler regions, lift tubers after frost, cure them, and store in a cool, dry place for replanting next year.

Materials

Single viable root of which to propagate a dahlia from the parent plant.

Shipping & Returns

Please allow two business days to prepare for shipping. The tuber is not packed in long term storage material, please ensure you are prepared to plant or store the tubers properly. It is the customers responsibility to care for the tuber after it arrives.

Dimensions

Dahlia tubers come in all shapes and sizes. Please note a certain shape or size does not produce a better or worse quality plant. Ugly tubers make beautiful plants!

Care Instructions

Dahlia Tubers need to store in a cool and dark place. I use water misted vermiculite. Please note that I am in zone 11 and your planting zone may likely need a completely different method of storage. Our tubers are shipped with the intention of the customer planting right away. Please look up proper dahlia planting for your zone.
